    Hi. I’m about to pull the trigger on the bike. Unfortunately there is no where to test ride. I’m looking at the Troy since I live in Minnesota but go to Colorado once in a while. 2 questions 1. Is the Gx build worth $300 more than the deore build. $3699 compared to $3399. And second, I’m concerned about the reach. I’m a little over 6 ft tall and 210 pounds. The reach is longer than anything else I’ve ridden. Do you find the reach an issue? I prefer to be a bit more upright. Thanks for any help.

      Well the best would have been to ride both over that last few seasons, ride and expert and a summit x, it is almost impossible to tell the difference in a sled with just t-motion, and just flex edge, people say they notice but sorry we ride them back to back to back and it really comes down to what you get use to or adapt to. If you think you want flex edge but not t-motion then a summit x and add the t-motion xt from the expert but a bigger difference is in the skis, if you put salazzking ski rubbers in it makes the biggest difference, and going g5 is night and day over a G4,

      RIBs are better than SIBs for sure but SIBs are like a few thousand dollars compared to a RIB that will cost at least $50k unless used (which is a whole nother thing cause you likely will need to retube it at some point). Either way, SIBs and RIBs serve different purposes. For what it is, Stryker SIBs are some of the best out there and most legitimate SIBs are very much ocean worthy vessels compared to lake rafts from intex and the like.

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona 2 месяца назад

      Your question is interesting as you say it has no value but then say why was it not thought of earlier? Engineers who think this stuff up are designing stuff 15-10 and 5 years in the future, when they design the sled the time it takes leave little for the engineering team to think up products that might work with it. Once people ride it and say hey be cool on thos etc then those parts get made and thought of, which answers why it all just does not come out right away. If it did you would have to be wow'd with a whole bunch of new stuff every year which is not possible in a timeline. This seat also fits G4 and G5 which is great so people who keep their sled longer can do upgrades to make them better easier and more fun and easier to ride. On the cost, yes it is a lot of money but compared to dirt bike seats etc it is not, the time etc to design products especially for a manufacture is a lot of cost. If someone made a seat like this with cost of material and design and build etc it would be the same cost or more, which is why you don't see many aftermarket companies doing this and if they did it would be more money! This seat has a place and will sell through. Some like the expert low seat, i would be one of those people, but some find it too hard and need more comfort so they buy a bigger seat and some will love this to get the belt out of that little pack on the back and away for a clean look and also out of sight from anyone who might steal it!

I don't have a trailer with it and I want to keep it as portable as possible. I am on the Sunshine Coast and I like to take it down to the beach and inflate it and go. I find carrying around the 25 hp is a pain. My understanding there is over 50 lbs weight difference between the two and would be more manageable carrying from my truck to the beach to mount it. You spare plenty of time but, mainly, a lot of stress : these bikes a relaxing. Be careful to choose a motor in the crankset and not in the wheel, it is much better. Do you prefer E bikes over regular MTB’s? Should all MTB trails allow E-bikes?

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona 3 месяца назад

      After riding mtb since 1987 and racing as a pro from 1990 to 2006 I can honestly say that YES I prefer e-mtb of regular bikes. Anyone who is not 10% within a winning races should be on an e-mtb, they will become a better rider faster and even a top level rider will benefit from the training that you can do on an e-mtb. They provide better training, a higher cardio workout (less muscular workout) and provide way more fun! And yes there is absolutely zero difference between an e-mtb over a regular bike on the trails, so they should be allowed everywhere a regular bike would be allowed. The biggest issue we have in BC with mtb trails is illegally built trails and not one mtb club or group is tackling this issue, they actually overlook it as they want more trails, but the issue is a lot of these trails are not sustainable and it destroys the ability to have better built trail network without having trails go in every direction with so many junctions.

    • @quinncolby
      @quinncolby 3 месяца назад

      @@DaveNorona Higher cardio on an E-bike? I switched from dirt bikes to MTB’s about 10 years ago. Why will riding an E-bike make me a better rider? We just got back from a week in Moab. Nothing is harder than grinding a bike up a mountain but the satisfaction is worth it. There are plenty of dirt bike trails for E-bikes to use. MTB trails are for the people willing to put in the work at least here in the mountains. I have ridden E-bikes and they are fun but I will stick to MTB’s. The locals in Moab say people ride e-bikes up but then need Search & Rescue to help them get down😂

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona 3 месяца назад

      @@quinncolby Its fun when people don't understand how your own body works. I will explain. When you ride a regular bike you need strength and cardio, right? In moto you get lots of strength, but not the same cardio, which is why moto riders ride mtb is for the cardio, the reason they don't run where they can get better cardio is running is much harder on the muscular skeleton so they would get more tired and sore and there for not able to push when they ride the track. Now ask yourself when your out riding your regular bike if you did not build up lactate from pushing hard would you be able to go faster, the answer is and will be always, YES! So with an e-mtb you can push harder cardio wise because you are not pushing your muscular system to the end. If you still don't understand this then you need to learn why intervals works. Intervals work because they tax your cardio system in short bursts so you can push beyond what you can normally do but you have to stop at the limit of your muscular system as it will take too much oxygen to your muscles and you will slow down. Can you win regular races after only training on an e-bike, the answer is no as you need a strong muscular system as well. It is true you can soft pedal an e-mtb , and that is good for the other type of training it provides, as back when i was racing 80 percent of your training was done on a road bike where you can control your HR and do long slow and keep your heart rate low and build a big base. Then the mtb training was done for specific workouts as if you just rode your mtb every day you would over train and not do well in races, Now you can use the e-mtb and ride all rides on trails and specifically do different work outs, again if racing a regular bike you will need to do the specific workouts on a regular bike. If you still don't get this then when you go to the gym next time make sure when you do all your weights you do the whole stack, so for bench if the weights go to 300 pounds make sure you do the whole stack or you rare cheating since the whole stack is there you must do it, or do you do put the pin when you can do specific weights, like an endurance weight which is lighter and more reps and a strength weight which is heavier but less reps. An e-mtb allows proper training. It always blows my mind that people don't get this. I it always comes from riders who think they are pretty good but would get smashed in races, as all the good guys know how your body works and don't care about guys and what they are riding. You sound like a typical mtb rider who discovered a fun sport, did a couple of trail days and now think he knows the whole sport. I was there at the beginning and raced in over 500 of the toughest races all over the world, just do you and stick to your riding your training and having fun, as that is all most people are doing. cheers dave

Montana is great but sorry you aint got shit on the pacific northwest riding, the riding here is real single track steep wet and loose. Come for a visit sometime and you will see what real riding on a moto, trials or mountain bike is.

    Here is a tip Dave.... tape of the paint line about 3/8" below the actual line. Every coat move tape line up 1/16" so you don't get that big buildup line.
